Privacy Policy
Which information this website receives, why we keep it and how you stay in control of it.
The following notice sets out how personal information is handled on quibronix.net under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). It names the responsible company, the data we receive when you use the site or write to us, the purposes of the processing and the rights you can exercise.
Accountability for personal information
Responsibility for the information collected on quibronix.net lies with Lantern Row Stories, 214 Front Street Unit 3, Belleville, ON K8N 2Z1, Canada. Whoever has a question about this notice, or about data we may hold, can write to hello@quibronix.net or call (613) 632-1585.
Purposes and consent
The processing serves the operation and security of quibronix.net, the handling of the requests you send us, the preparation of offers and the fulfillment of duties that arise from a contract or from the law.
We identify why we need personal information before or when we collect it, and we use it for that purpose with your consent, which is implied when you contact us to receive a reply. Where the law allows or requires us to act without consent, for example to meet a legal obligation, we do only what it permits. If you leave out the contact details we ask for, we may not be able to reply.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as statutory retention periods require. After that it is deleted or the reference to a person is removed.
Server logs are removed by our hosting provider after a short period. Messages stay with us while the matter is open and for some time afterwards, in case you return to the same question.
Data processed on this website
Every page request is recorded on the server together with the address of the requesting device, the time, the file opened and the browser used. This information is needed to deliver the page and to detect faults or misuse.
When you send us a message, we keep what you give us, such as your name, the address for our reply, a telephone number if you add one and the text itself, for as long as the matter you wrote about is being dealt with.
Cookies and browser storage
This website keeps stored entries to a minimum. It does not use advertising cookies, it does not follow visitors across other sites, and an answer you give to a cookie notice stays in your own browser.
You can see which entries this website has stored, delete them and refuse new ones at any time in the settings of your browser. Blocking storage that the pages need may mean that parts of the site no longer work.
Third parties and transfers
We do not sell personal data. It is shared only with the providers who host this website and handle our email, acting on our instructions under a written contract, and with authorities where the law obliges us.
Some of these providers may process or store data outside our own country. Where that happens, we make sure that the information receives a comparable level of protection through our contract with the provider, as PIPEDA requires.
Your rights and how to use them
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask for it to be corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You may withdraw your consent to its use at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
You can use your rights by writing to hello@quibronix.net. Before we answer, we may ask for a detail that confirms your identity, so that data is not disclosed to the wrong person; the answer follows within the period the law provides and costs you nothing.
Besides contacting us, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the privacy commissioner of your province where provincial law applies.
